Awards announced for Southern Tier, Finger Lakes, Hudson Valley

The Southern Tier's regional council was named one of five top performers at an awards ceremony Wednesday, while Western New York received $60.8 million in state aid and the Finger Lakes got $59.8 million.

Regional council awards to be announced today

The event will start at 10:30 a.m. at The Egg theater near the state Capitol. The 10 regional councils will be competing for $756 million in grants and tax breaks, including $150 million in capital aid and $70 million in tax credits.
