Man dead, woman hurt after hit by car while fighting in road

Officials say a 66-year-old man has died and a 53-year-old woman was critically injured after they were hit by a car while they were in the roadway in the Dutchess County town of Pleasant Valley. State police say officers received a report of two people fighting in the roadway on Route 44 around 9 p.m. Friday.
